Laurence Owen

2014 Musical Comedy Awards finalist Laurence Owen has sung troublesome deadpan songs of lust and bad manners on the London comedy and cabaret circuits since early 2012.
Backed by the rowdy clatter of his trademark shrunken guitar, Laurence’s bookish storytelling style and dark, spiky observations come with all the blood and thunder of Nick Cave or Scott Walker, but through the eyes of someone who might once have captained the school chess club.
Laurence has looked down on audiences at the likes of The Bloomsbury Theatre, Madame Jojo’s, Mitch Benn’s Distraction Club, The Double R Club, Cafe De Paris, Soho Theatre, Leicester Square Theatre, Bush Hall, The Aeronaut and more, across the UK and abroad.
