Rick Kiesewetter

The show really is autobiographical and my adventures here in Britain land. Observational and sometimes acerbic and cynical but always with jokes

Rick is an Asian-American comic. Adopted in Japan and then raised in a small town in New Jersey. Served in US Army Intelligence in German and has been living in the UK since 1993. So it’s little surprise to find that ethnicity is the root of his humour.

As you might expect, Kiesewetter has some playful fun with this diverse ethnicity; relying on the audience’s ignorance of anything from the Far East they haven’t gleaned from a Karate Kid movie. His act is a subtle, clever subversion of all those stereotypes while not losing focus on the need for jokes.

Now a British citizen and former UK Gladiators Contender, he recently ran his first solo show at the Free Fringe in Edinburgh 2013, CHINK.
